Gretchen Knight-Dennis, LMSW

"I believe every individual deserves a compassionate space to explore, heal, and transform.  Therapy within the reproductive stage of life is more than a clinical process—it's a partnership where hope and healing grow, even in the face of profound challenges."

Available for telehealth Ages 18+

As a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW) with over a decade of experience, I am dedicated to guiding individuals through transformative moments in their lives. My career began in trauma-focused care, supporting women, children, and families in crisis across community, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Prior to joining Nurtured Path, I specialized in trauma treatment for survivors of sexual abuse and assault. My therapy approach emphasizes collaboration, empathy, and empowerment to support clients on their healing journeys.

I focus on helping women navigate mental health challenges during reproductive years, including infertility, mood disorders, pregnancy loss, postpartum anxiety, and traumatic birth experiences. I am particularly passionate about treating perinatal anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and PTSD related to birth or sexual trauma. Additionally, I enjoy working with clients around life transitions, parenting, and relationship challenges.

My practice incorporates evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. Together, we explore each client’s unique experiences, build effective coping strategies, and foster resilience.

Enjoying Outdoor

Outside of work, I live in Grand Rapids with my husband, son, and our rescue dog, Frieda. I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening, and spending quality time with family and friends over good food, music, and lots of laughter.
